Truth: Distilled Water is the Purest Water

Distilled water is the purest water you can drink because to distill something means to remove all impurities. That means that the only water you can drink that is completely free of any impurities is distilled water. Distilling is the only way to actually get 100% of the impurities out of the water.

Truth: Distilled Water Contains No Minerals

Since all the impurities are taken out of the water when it is distilled that means everything is taken out of the water, even minerals. The issue here is that many people think it is not safe to drink distilled water because it lacks these minerals.

The truth is that you do not need to get minerals form your water because you will get what you need through food. You can also drink other beverages, like fruit juice, to get minerals. If water is all that you drink then a supplement may help replace lost minerals and boost your dietary needs.

Myth: Distilled Water is Harmful

Distilled water can not be harmful because it is 100% pure water. Every living person is made up of water, so how can water be harmful? Water can be harmful if it contains toxins and other impurities. Those are removed from distilled water, making it pure and clean. Distilled water is not harmful at all.

As mentioned, one reason why people fear drinking distilled water is because it is so pure, but that does not make it unhealthy. It will not hurt you to drink distilled water.
